From the Pastor’s Pen.. .
Today, December 20, 2023, it is with joy that I greet you in The Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ. God has allowed us another opportunity, a greater opportunity, to share with this world the blessings that He has showered on us from above. As Pastor of The Greater First Missionary Baptist Church, it is with the joy of The Lord that He has given us another platform to share and tell the world about our Risen Lord. Our motto says: “We are the church that cares,” and we extend to everyone an invitation to share with us as we wholeheartedly give our best to spread the Gospel Message to a dark world.
We realize that these are perilous days with critical issues that we face on a daily basis. The facts are that we have survived a global pandemic. We are seeing devastating news reports. Our families are facing extreme headwinds while trying to survive. Our children are growing up in a latch-key society. Everything about us has become instant like grits. This is a microwave society.
We, at Greater First, are striving to answer the question: What can we do to survive? We understand and we accept the challenge and Paul’s declaration in Philippians 4:13: “1 can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” We have accepted the awesome fact that we cannot run away from problems, but we must meet them head-on in Jesus’ Name. Therefore, as Pastor of God’s flock, I have personally accepted that our solutions are found in our preaching, teaching, and praying. As Pastor, I also realize that God has given us resources that are outside the four walls of the Church. We are not afraid to use trained professionals in different situations. Therefore, we have functioning men, women, and youth ministries. We go inside and outside of the box to fulfill the mandate of our Savior.
So, brothers and sisters, as you read this pastoral message, I will ask that you come visit us as we press for the mark of the high calling. We are thankful to have this time to welcome you to viewing Greater First Missionary Baptist Church as a possible place of worship. We care and we lift up praise to God in all that we do.

As the majestic eagle spreads his powerful wings for flight into the rising sun, we raise our hands in praise to the Son of our God!
